Ginnifer Goodwin says that weddings are 'jarring' at 'Something Borrowed' premiere

Goodwin, who is currently planning her wedding to actor Joey Kern, admits that the wedding premise lends itself to discomfort and comedy.
"There is something about weddings, of course, that involves real self-analysis and a sort of, step back from one's life to find the assurance to move forward to a whole new kind of commitment," Goodwin told Rachel Smith of OnTheRedCarpet.com at the film's Hollywood premiere. "It is such a jarring, discombobulating time in everyone's lives and that's why it's such prime rom-com fodder."
Goodwin stars as Rachel, a lawyer who's secretly in love with her law school crush Dex (Colin Egglesfield) but doesn't admit her crush until he's engaged to her childhood friend Darcy (Kate Hudson). "The Office"'s John Krasinski lends comic relief as Ethan, Rachel's confidante and sometimes conscience.
"I feel like this is a really relatable romcom," Goodwin added. "If we can even call it a romcom. I've been calling it a 'rom with laughs.'"
The film is based on a book of the same name by Emily Giffin which was released in 2005. The novel has a sequel called "Something Blue," which focuses on Darcy.
