UConn has much to crow

All you need to know is that UConn is 21-0 in games outside the Big East Conference this season, and there are no more Big East teams still dunking and dribbling. Case closed.
Excuse me, some people have been derisively referring to the conference as the Big Least since only two of the 11 members that made the NCAA Tournament advanced to the Sweet 16.
And crusty UConn coach Jim Calhoun had a few words for those naysayers after his team's ninth consecutive postseason victory, coming directly after a 9-9 finish in conference play.
"The ninth-place team in the Big Least is now in the Final Four," Calhoun said pointedly. "I don't know what that means."
I do. It means Calhoun can thumb his nose at anybody he wants.
Whatever you think of the conference, it's undeniably impressive that UConn won five games in as many days during the Big East Tournament - against De Paul, Georgetown, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Louisville - to earn the automatic NCAA berth.
And then the Huskies (30-9) carried that momentum into the NCAA Tournament, knocking off Bucknell, Cincinnati, San Diego State and an Arizona team that had overpowered defending NCAA champion Duke in Thursday's regional semifinal here.
